IVE member Jang Wonyoung has become the subject of another online debate after a photo from the group’s recent visit to Everland was shared online.
On July 1, all six members of IVE visited the theme park for their special collaboration project, “ForEVER IVE”. The members experienced several attractions and participated in activities prepared for the project.
However, on July 14, a photo showing Jang Wonyoung standing with her arms crossed while a theme park staff member spoke to the group began drawing attention.
Some online users questioned her attitude based on the image. However, the photo captured only one brief moment and did not show the full situation, leading many others to argue that the criticism was unfair and lacked proper context.
Several netizens defended Jang Wonyoung, writing, “Everything becomes a controversy,” “People are finding fault with the smallest things,” and “She did not cause any trouble, so I do not understand why people are judging her personality just because she crossed her arms.”
Others added, “People should stop going too far,” and “The atmosphere of criticizing her over everything has become too serious”.
The latest discussion follows other moments in which Jang Wonyoung received online criticism. Earlier this year, she faced claims that she arrived late to an event, but the issue was later linked to a communication mistake involving the organizers. She was also recently criticized over a brief moment filmed at an airport.
In a recent interview with Arena Homme Plus, Jang Wonyoung shared her thoughts on receiving public attention.
She said, “Like everything in life, I do not think it is always good or always bad. There may be uncomfortable parts, but I tend to enjoy them.”
She continued, “Whether something is positive or negative, I believe it can eventually have a good influence on me. I try to accept everything humbly and enjoy it”.
