BTOB member Minhyuk, also known as HUTA, recently revealed that serious back problems were the reason he began exercising more actively.

Minhyuk appeared as a guest on the July 14 broadcast of SBS PowerFM’s “Cultwo Show” for its “Summer Music Festa” special. TVXQ’s U Know Yunho joined the episode as a special DJ.

During the show, Minhyuk explained that he started working out seriously after experiencing a herniated disc and spinal stenosis.

“I developed a herniated disc and spinal stenosis, and I could barely move,” he shared.

The singer said the experience was especially difficult because he had always considered himself naturally athletic.

“I always thought I had good physical ability, but when I could not move properly, I realized that I needed to recover,” he explained. “I am very healthy now.”

Minhyuk also talked about his outfit during the radio appearance. Although it was prepared as a stage costume, he said it was very similar to what he normally wears.

“Fans may not believe it, but this is a stage outfit,” he said. “My everyday clothes are almost the same because I have always liked this kind of style.”

Minhyuk’s comments showed that his physical transformation was not only about appearance but also part of his effort to recover and protect his health.
