The rising actors who left a strong impression in Netflix’s global hit “Teach You a Lesson” recently came together for a group pictorial and interview.
On July 7, global media platform BoldPage released photos and interviews with Song Si An, Park Seo Yoon, Ok Jin Wook, Lee Bong Joon, Lee Seung Kyu, and Jang Yo Hoon, who all gained attention for their scene stealing roles in the series.
Song Si An, who appeared in episode 5 as Choi Ji Seon, looked back on filming with Park Ji Yeon, who played Woo Jin’s mother. She shared, “As soon as they called cut, Park Ji Yeon returned with a gentle smile. She is actually an angel in real life”.
She added that Park Ji Yeon helped keep the filming set comfortable so the actors would not stay too deeply immersed in the heavy emotions.
Song Si An also shared a sweet moment from filming with child actors, saying, “The kids actually called me teacher.” She explained that when the children needed help, such as going to the bathroom, she would tell the staff and assist them on set.
Park Seo Yoon, who played Han Ye Ri in episode 3, talked about a scene that stayed with her emotionally. She said, “There was a scene where I was alone in a room and watched my account disappear”.
She added, “It really felt like my existence was disappearing, and even after filming ended, an unknown emptiness remained”.
She also said she felt the show’s popularity in real life, sharing, “At the cafe where I used to work part time, customers were talking about ‘Teach You a Lesson’ right in front of me, so I felt proud”.
Ok Jin Wook, who played Jo In Beom in episode 2, reacted with humor to his villain image. He said, “I feel a little wronged. But he is still a bad guy”, making the interview atmosphere lighter.
He also revealed the effort behind his tattoo makeup, saying nearly 20 people had to arrive hours early for the process. He added, “It was also hard to remove, so later we found a way to put tape on it and peel it off all at once.”
Lee Bong Joon, who played Jo Gyu Cheol, was also mentioned for one of the show’s intense scenes. Song Si An joked that she became very angry while watching his character, which made everyone laugh.
Lee Bong Joon said he was thankful that the production team and senior actors helped keep the atmosphere comfortable while filming difficult scenes.
Lee Seung Kyu, who played Ryu Jun Hyung in episode 1, revealed a different side of himself outside the drama. He said, “I like cooking, so I live with my parents and cook a lot at home. I also work out every day, and I do swimming, gym workouts, judo, and taekwondo.”
He also praised director Hong Jong Chan, saying the director showed interest in the actors as people and asked many thoughtful questions, including what kind of actor they wanted to become.
Jang Yo Hoon, who played Min Ji Woong in episode 6, shared his unexpected connection to music. He said, “Sometimes I write lyrics alone and try recording them.”
He added that he even practices lines with beats playing, saying it changes the way the dialogue comes out. He also revealed, “I entered the acting department through rap.”
The actors said they have felt the public response since the show’s release. Park Seo Yoon shared that people now recognize her outside, while Ok Jin Wook recalled seeing someone watching his episode at a restaurant while he was standing nearby.
The cast ended by thanking viewers and said, “We would be thankful if you continue to show interest and support for the actors who appeared in ‘Teach You a Lesson.’ We will greet you again with better sides of ourselves”.
