Choi Jin Hyuk is set to share honest and funny stories on MBC’s “Radio Star.”
The July 1 episode of “Radio Star” will feature Ryu Soo Young, Choi Jin Hyuk, Yoon Si Yoon, and Sandeul as guests for the “National representative sons” special.
During the episode, Choi Jin Hyuk will talk about his close friendship with Lee Guk Joo. He reveals that he first asked for her phone number when they met on a variety show, but Lee Guk Joo misunderstood it as a sign of romantic interest.
Choi Jin Hyuk explains, “I just wanted to become friends,” and shares how the two later became longtime close friends.
Lee Guk Joo has also shown strong support for him over the years. She hosted his fan meeting and even joined his fan meeting in Japan, where she helped fans take photos with him. Choi Jin Hyuk also shares that he once gave her sesame oil made by his mother as a gift, showing his gratitude for their friendship.
Choi Jin Hyuk will also talk about his musical “The Days,” where he is performing with Ryu Soo Young. He jokingly talks about Ryu Soo Young’s long explanations and says, “It is fun, but I wish he would get to the point a little faster.”
The actor also opens up about his serious approach to action scenes. Speaking about a sword fighting scene in “The Days,” he says, “Safety is the most important thing, but I also think it should not look fake to the audience.”
He shares that he once handled an unexpected mistake during a musical performance by continuing the scene with quick bare handed action. According to Choi Jin Hyuk, most of the audience did not even notice that anything had gone wrong.
Choi Jin Hyuk also brings laughter with a story from his childhood. He says, “Since I was young, I have almost never lived with my room door closed.” He explains that after his mother caught him secretly playing games during his school days, she no longer allowed him to close his door. Because of that, he says he still has the habit of taking important phone calls in the bathroom.
Through the episode, Choi Jin Hyuk is expected to show both his funny side and his warm affection for the people close to him.
“Radio Star” airs on July 1 at 10:30 PM KST.
