SBS’s Friday Saturday drama “Agent Kim Reactivated” is quickly becoming one of the most talked about dramas of the moment.
Starring So Ji Sub, the drama has already surpassed 15% viewership according to Nielsen Korea after only two episodes, showing a strong start on television.
As the drama gains popularity, movie fans are also joining the support. In online movie communities, many fans have been encouraging others to watch the drama as a way to support So Ji Sub, who is known for helping bring independent and art films to Korean audiences.
Some fans wrote, “The chance to repay him has come,” “Please earn a lot of money,” “Let So Ganji become a big hit,” and “Please do even better and bring us many good movies.”
This warm reaction comes from So Ji Sub’s long time support for meaningful foreign films. He has invested in or imported several movies that may have been difficult for Korean audiences to see otherwise, including “Midsommar”, “Philomena”, and “The Substance”.
In a past appearance on tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block”, So Ji Sub shared, “I have invested in more than 30 films”.
He also honestly said, “In terms of profit, it is almost always a loss,” but explained that he wanted to introduce more diverse films to viewers.
Because of this, many movie fans are calling their support for “Agent Kim Reactivated” a kind of “repayment viewing”, hoping So Ji Sub receives strong success this time.
“Agent Kim Reactivated” follows an ordinary father who becomes a dangerous man in order to get back his only daughter.
