Choi Woo Shik has responded after an unexpected controversy began during his recent appearance at Paris Fashion Week.

The actor recently traveled to Paris, France, to attend a fashion show for a brand where he is active as a global ambassador. While heading to the event, Choi Woo Shik stopped to meet fans from different countries and sign autographs.

However, one fan later claimed that the actor ignored their request for an autograph while signing for others nearby. The fan said they were the only Black fan at the scene and claimed Choi Woo Shik left without making eye contact.

The fan shared, “I can understand not getting an autograph itself. But it is hard to accept that he signed only for other people right in front of me”.

They also said, “My hands are still shaking because of this. I had the worst experience at the Paris fashion show”.

As the discussion spread online, Choi Woo Shik personally responded through his social media on June 28.

He wrote in English, “If I passed you by, I’m sorry. I wanted to sign for as many people as possible, but there was very little time. I sincerely hope we can meet next time”.

After his statement, some fans shared videos from the event, saying the clips showed Choi Woo Shik signing autographs for Black fans as well.

Based on the videos being shared online, many fans argued that the situation may have happened because of the crowded schedule and limited time, rather than a clear intention to ignore a specific fan.

The issue remains a sensitive topic online, with some people expressing support for the fan’s feelings and others saying Choi Woo Shik’s actions at the event do not appear to show intentional discrimination.
