SBS’s new Friday Saturday drama “Agent Kim Reactivated” is already showing the strength of a major hit.
According to Nielsen Korea, episode 2 of “Agent Kim Reactivated”, which aired on June 27, recorded 15.7% nationwide ratings, 15.9% in the metropolitan area, and a peak rating of 18.1%. The drama ranked No. 1 in its time slot and also took No. 1 among weekly miniseries.
With this, “Agent Kim Reactivated” became the highest rated SBS drama of 2026 so far. It also became the first drama across all channels in 5 years, since “The Penthouse 3” in 2021, to surpass 15% ratings in only 2 episodes.
The drama also performed strongly among younger viewers. Its 2049 rating recorded an average of 5.8% and a peak of 7.17%, ranking No. 1 among all Saturday programs and all programs aired during the week across every channel and genre.
Episode 2 continued the story of Agent Kim, played by So Ji Sub, as he begins to take action after his daughter Min Ji goes missing. The episode showed that Agent Kim is not just an ordinary father, but a man with a hidden past and strong survival skills.
One of the key emotional lines in the episode came when Agent Kim expressed the pain of a parent who may have lost a child. He said, “When you lose your parents, you are called an orphan. When you lose your husband, you are called a widow. But there is no name for a parent who loses a child.”
He also delivered the line, “Then I should become a lawless middle aged man,” showing the start of his fierce counterattack.
The episode also gave a short look into Agent Kim’s past as a former agent and hinted at new threats surrounding him. While the story raised tension with intense action and emotional scenes, the ending left viewers waiting to find out what will happen next.
With strong ratings, high buzz, and So Ji Sub’s powerful performance, “Agent Kim Reactivated” is quickly becoming one of the biggest K drama titles of the year.
