Actress Ha Young is drawing attention for her strong performance in Netflix’s new series “Teach You a Lesson”.
Released on the 5th, “Teach You a Lesson” features Ha Young as Choi Ga Yun, a teacher who tries to do what is right in a difficult school environment. Her character is also connected to Na Hwa Jin, played by Kim Mu Yeol, and Choi Kang Seok, played by Lee Sung Min.
In the series, Choi Ga Yun is shown as someone who believes in proper education and cares deeply about her students. Ha Young portrays the character with calm but emotional acting, showing the struggle between a teacher’s ideals and the harsh reality inside schools.
“Teach You a Lesson” has also been gaining attention for its strong performance on Netflix. Soon after its release, the series ranked No. 1 on Netflix Korea’s Top 10 series list. It also reached No. 1 on Netflix’s global non English TV chart, showing its growing popularity both in Korea and overseas.
The drama deals with serious topics such as school violence and the weakening of teachers’ rights. Because of this, many viewers are discussing the message of the story as well as the performances of its cast.
Although Ha Young does not have the longest screen time, viewers say she leaves a clear impact. Her role helps set the tone of the drama and adds emotional weight to the story without needing exaggerated acting.
Ha Young previously impressed global viewers as nurse Cheon Jang Mi in Netflix’s “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call”. With her latest role as Choi Ga Yun in “Teach You a Lesson”, she is once again proving her presence as an actress to watch.
She is also expected to show a new side of herself in the upcoming Netflix series “This Awful Love”.
