Heo Nam Jun shared his deep gratitude for Lim Ji Yeon after working with her in SBS’s “My Royal Nemesis”.
In a recent interview after the drama’s finale, Heo Nam Jun talked about his chemistry with Lim Ji Yeon and how much he respected her as an actress. In the series, Heo Nam Jun played Cha Se Gye, while Lim Ji Yeon played Shin Seo Ri.
Speaking about Shin Seo Ri from his character’s point of view, Heo Nam Jun said, “She is really charming. She is so charming that if he loses this woman, he may never meet another woman like her again”.
He added that Shin Seo Ri becomes even more attractive because she treats Cha Se Gye as a person, not just as someone with social power.
Heo Nam Jun also praised Lim Ji Yeon’s work ethic on set. He said, “I realized that people who are really good work even harder”.
He explained that even when she seemed mentally and physically tired, Lim Ji Yeon stayed bright and helped make the set feel comfortable.
He continued, “I was surprised during rehearsals. I wondered, ‘When did she prepare all of this?’” He added that even near the end of filming, when they were working with little sleep, she rarely made mistakes and clearly knew what she wanted to show in every scene.
Heo Nam Jun said her effort also motivated him. “Because of her, I also came to my senses,” he shared. “Since I had the least experience, I was already nervous and working hard, but I ended up working even harder.”
Lim Ji Yeon previously said on “You Quiz on the Block” that meeting Heo Nam Jun felt like a miracle. When asked how he would describe meeting her, Heo Nam Jun said they often joked on set, but in serious moments, they both knew the drama worked well because of each other.
He added, “She accepted everything, even silly jokes, and it is not easy to work on a project like that.”
Heo Nam Jun then gave one of his most sincere comments about Lim Ji Yeon, saying, “She is someone I may never meet again. I really mean that”.
He shared that he felt very sad when filming ended and remembered how they even said they did not want the project to end, even though it was difficult.
