Red Velvet’s Seulgi personally updated fans after the sad news of her cousin Suki Jin’s passing.
On June 21, Seulgi shared a message through a fan communication platform, reassuring fans who had been worried about her. She began by saying, “You must have worried a lot, right?”
She continued, “I have been eating well, sleeping well, preparing for the album, and doing fine.” Seulgi explained that she did not want to stay silent for too long because she was concerned fans might worry even more.

She added, “I came to show you that I am doing well,” and thanked fans for their support. Seulgi said, “Your messages of comfort helped me a lot,” adding that her members, family, and company staff had also been caring for her.
Earlier, it was shared that Seulgi’s cousin, creator Suki Jin, real name Jo Su Jin, had passed away on June 7 due to a sudden accident. The news was announced through a comment on Suki Jin’s YouTube channel by someone who identified themselves as her older cousin.
Suki Jin was known as a creator active on YouTube and SNS. She also appeared in past vlog content with Seulgi, and the two were known to have a close relationship. In a recent video, Seulgi had expressed her affection by saying, “I wanted to become your real older sister.”
After the news, Seulgi temporarily paused uploads on her personal YouTube channel “Hi Seulgi.” Through her latest message, she let fans know that she is doing okay and asked them not to worry too much.
