Dex has announced that he will temporarily pause activities on his YouTube channel “Dex101.”
On June 18, Dex uploaded a video titled “I will put a comma on my 7 year YouTube journey | Off Dex with 95s,” where he met with YouTuber Mimiminu and chef Kwon Sung Joon.
During the video, Dex shared, “It may be too much to say that today is the last video on our channel, but we will be taking a break for a while.” He explained that the decision had already been discussed internally.
Dex said he wanted to mark the moment with friends instead of doing it alone, adding, “It is not that I will never do it again. I am just taking a short break.” He described the video as “a comma” in his YouTube journey.
The broadcaster looked back on starting YouTube after leaving the military in 2020 and said he is now in his 6th year.
He admitted that taking a break feels sad because he had been enjoying YouTube more than ever this year.
However, Dex explained that there were several reasons behind the pause, including personal reasons and condition related concerns.
He said, “I thought it would be right to take a short rest in order to show a better side of myself.”
He also revealed that his return may not happen soon, saying, “What is certain is that I do not think my return will happen within this year.”
Dex added that he does not want to keep creating content while feeling pressured. He said, “I want to do things in a fun way, not while feeling chased.” He also shared that he wants to take time to think about his career and future, saying his current position feels “a little unclear” because he is involved in many different fields.
He concluded that this year feels like the right time to choose one main direction and focus on it.
