Hyeri is showing a new side of herself as she takes on the role of director.
On June 19, Hyeri shared several photos on her SNS and reflected on being selected as “Next Actor Lee Hye Ri.”
She wrote, “I sincerely thank the many people who have been with me in every step. I will not forget how I feel now and will continue acting with sincerity.”
On the same day, Hyeri uploaded a video to her YouTube channel and shared the story behind the Muju Film Festival project she had prepared for one year.
She explained that after being chosen as a “Next Actor,” a book about her story was created with Baek Eun Ha.
Hyeri said, “This book is full of only my story. The fact that I can release this book itself is amazing, and I feel very proud and touched.”
She also revealed that she screened her first directing work at Muju, along with a trailer and her own exhibition. She said, “It was a schedule that started with Hyeri and ended with Hyeri.”
While explaining the meaning behind her project, Hyeri shared that the bedroom represented the image people expect from her, while the bathroom felt like an escape. She said, “I think my real self feels like someone with many worries and someone who is tired.”
Hyeri added, “This was a one year project. From now on, when I do acting projects, I think I will introduce myself as ‘actress Lee Hye Ri.’ It was such a happy time.”
Her update also came after recent comments about her appearance during a fan meeting outfit. Hyeri previously responded by saying, “Actually, I like myself,” and added, “I do not know why someone has to be slim to look professional.” She said that if fans wanted, she would exercise “in a healthy way.”
