Secret’s Jun Hyo Seong opened up about a difficult time in her career and moved Kim Sook to tears.
On June 15, Jun Hyo Seong appeared on Kim Sook’s YouTube channel “Kim Sook TV” in a video featuring Secret’s reunion.
During the episode, Jun Hyo Seong shared that she had once gone three years without receiving appearance fees. She said, “That was around the time I was moving from my 20s into my 30s. I did not know how to find happiness outside of work, but I learned a lot about life during that time. I became more mature.”
She also revealed that she spent much of that period at home, praying and thinking about a different path. She shared, “If I did not work as a celebrity, I wanted to do something related to animals, so I also got a pet caretaker certificate.”
After resting for about two years, Jun Hyo Seong said she began missing the stage again. She explained, “It has been 12 years since Secret made a comeback. It has been 17 years since our debut.” She added, “I do not know what the result will be, but working is fun and makes me happy.”
Kim Sook became emotional after asking Jun Hyo Seong what happiness meant to her, and both of them ended up crying.
Kim Sook also revealed that Jun Hyo Seong had personally sent her a message asking for help with Secret’s comeback promotions. In the message, Jun Hyo Seong wrote, “Secret is finally making a comeback after a long time. But it is not easy to get broadcast appearances. I gathered courage to contact you and ask if we could appear, even for just 30 seconds, on a program or YouTube show that you are doing.”
Kim Sook said she felt Jun Hyo Seong was truly desperate and replied, “You are always welcome.” Jun Hyo Seong then shared, “I really cried after receiving that message.”
Meanwhile, Jun Hyo Seong will release Secret’s special mini album “Secret Flavor” on June 18 with original member Zinger and new member Yebin.
