Model and actress Hong Yi Seol has personally denied rumors that she is dating actor Heo Nam Jun.
On June 13, Hong Yi Seol addressed the rumors through her personal account after speculation about her relationship with Heo Nam Jun began spreading online.
In her statement, she explained that the two are only close colleagues who became friendly during their university days.
She wrote, “There have recently been stories going around about me, so I am carefully leaving this message. The actor being mentioned and I became close during college after taking classes together. We are only good colleagues, and the dating rumors are not true at all”.
Hong Yi Seol also said she decided to speak up because the continued speculation could affect Heo Nam Jun.
She added, “Because the continued speculation may cause trouble for the other actor, I decided to speak directly. The dating rumors and drama related stories currently spreading are all not true, so you do not need to worry”.
After her denial, attention turned to the connection between the two actors. Hong Yi Seol and Heo Nam Jun both studied Acting Arts at Sungkyunkwan University’s College of Arts. Hong Yi Seol was born in 1997, while Heo Nam Jun was born in 1993.
The two also appeared in the same SBS drama, “My Royal Nemesis”. Heo Nam Jun is currently starring as Cha Se Gye, while Hong Yi Seol made a brief appearance as a secretary.
“My Royal Nemesis” is a romance drama starring Lim Ji Yeon as Shin Seo Ri, an unknown actress whose life changes after she becomes linked to the spirit of a notorious Joseon villainess, and Heo Nam Jun as Cha Se Gye, a powerful chaebol known as a harsh figure in the business world.
