SBS’s “My Royal Nemesis” delivered another emotional episode as Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun’s characters shared a heartbreaking promise kiss.

Episode 11, which aired on June 12, followed Shin Seo Ri, played by Lim Ji Yeon, as she realized that her time in the present may be limited. After being pulled back to her Joseon era body while unconscious, Seo Ri returned to the 21st century but began preparing herself for a painful separation from Cha Se Gye, played by Heo Nam Jun.

The episode also performed strongly in ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, “My Royal Nemesis” reached a peak rating of 11.6%. It recorded 10.1% in the metropolitan area and 9.9% nationwide, taking No. 1 in its time slot. It also ranked No. 1 among currently airing miniseries and Friday Saturday dramas. Among the key 2049 viewer group, the drama reached a peak of 3.3% and averaged 2.4%.

In the episode, Se Gye rushed to Seo Ri after hearing that she had regained consciousness. Overcome with emotion, he told her, “Were you determined to make someone die?” Later, after bringing her home, he said, “I can never leave you alone,” showing his fear of losing her.

Se Gye then confessed his honest feelings, saying, “When I think that my unhappiness may spread to you, I feel so sorry. But I am a selfish person, so I cannot even imagine letting you go.”

Seo Ri responded with her own painful promise, saying, “No matter what happens, please remember one thing, that I truly held you in my heart.” She added, “Promise me that with just that memory, you will bloom without withering.”

The episode also showed Se Gye beginning his counterattack against Choi Moon Do, played by Jang Seung Jo, after Moon Do gained more control over Chail Group. At the same time, Seo Ri quietly prepared for a possible farewell, making the romance even more emotional.

Another heartbreaking moment came when Se Gye comforted Seo Ri during a painful memory. He held her and said, “Shin Seo Ri, I am here. Do not worry. Nothing is happening. I am here.” Seo Ri then broke down in his arms, saying, “What am I supposed to do?”

With its emotional romance, rising tension, and strong ratings, “My Royal Nemesis” continues to build curiosity about whether Seo Ri and Se Gye can overcome the fate trying to separate them.

“My Royal Nemesis” airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM KST on SBS.
