IVE has topped major Japanese music charts with their new Japanese album “LUCID DREAM”.
According to the latest chart released by Oricon Japan on June 3, IVE’s fourth Japanese album “LUCID DREAM” ranked No. 1 on the Oricon Weekly Combined Album Ranking. This marks the group’s third time reaching No. 1 on the chart.
IVE also became the first overseas female artist in about 10 months to top the ranking since their own Japanese third album “Be Alright” reached No. 1 on the chart dated August 11 last year.
The group also ranked No. 1 on the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking, earning two wins on Oricon’s weekly music charts. “LUCID DREAM” recorded 120,631 weekly points, setting the highest record this year among overseas female artists.
IVE also took first place on Billboard Japan’s Weekly Album Sales chart for the tracking period of May 25 to 31. The album recorded 139,278 copies sold.
“LUCID DREAM” includes six tracks in total. The album features three original Japanese songs, including the title track “LUCID DREAM,” “Fashion,” and “JIGSAW.” It also includes Japanese versions of “REBEL HEART,” “ATTITUDE,” and “Thank U” from their third mini album “IVE EMPATHY.”
Starship Entertainment said, “IVE topped Billboard Japan’s Top Album Sales chart last year with ‘Be Alright,’ and ‘After LIKE’ surpassed 200 million cumulative streams on Billboard Japan’s streaming chart. With this album, IVE is also showing a clear presence on major Japanese charts.”
The agency added, “Please watch how far the IVE syndrome will expand.”
Meanwhile, IVE is currently holding their second world tour “SHOW WHAT I AM.” The group is set to perform at Tokyo Dome on June 24.
