Former NCT member Mark is taking a new step as an independent artist.
On June 3, Mark, a Korean Canadian singer also known as Mark Lee, announced through his Instagram that he had opened the official account for his new one person agency, UpperRoom.
The newly opened account shared a short trailer featuring a video with Bible verses from Mark 14:12 15, along with the colorful logo of UpperRoom.
The name UpperRoom refers to the “upper room” connected to Mark’s Gospel. The name also draws attention because “Mark” is the same as the singer’s English name.
According to the business registration lookup system, Mark has already registered UpperRoom Co., Ltd. as a management business under the professional, scientific, and technical services category. The representative name is listed as Mark’s real name, Lee Mark.
This marks Mark’s new beginning about two months after his reported departure from NCT and the end of his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment last month.
Attention is now on what kind of path Mark will take as a solo artist under UpperRoom.
In his handwritten letter announcing his departure from the team, Mark previously shared his thoughts, saying, “Since it is the time when my 10 year contract is ending, I woke up all the feelings inside my heart and thought about it for a long time.”
He added that he became curious about “what the complete form of that dream would really look like” and wanted to “properly focus and dive into it.”
With UpperRoom now officially revealed, fans are watching closely to see Mark’s next move as an artist and representative of his own agency.
