Kim Soo Hyun’s side has shared an update on the actor’s possible return to activities.
On June 1, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal representative, lawyer Go Sang Rok, appeared on YTN Radio’s “Wise Radio Life” and spoke carefully about the actor’s future plans.
He said the specific details of Kim Soo Hyun’s return are still difficult to discuss, but added, “As his legal representative, I will support him until the end so that the actor can stand before the public again through his work”.
Regarding Kim Soo Hyun’s current condition, lawyer Go said the actor had suffered serious online damage. He stated that Kim Soo Hyun was in a situation where his “honor and character were almost destroyed due to serious cybercrime damage,” but is now slowly recovering his reputation.
The lawyer emphasized that Kim Soo Hyun’s return to normal life is the most important matter right now. He said, “For now, the actor’s return to daily life is the top priority.”
He also addressed public attention around possible large scale legal action, saying people should not focus only on a specific amount of money.
He explained, “Rather than being focused on a specific number, it is more important to create a warm social atmosphere where the actor can return to his original place as the truth is revealed”.
Lawyer Go also commented on the arrest warrant request involving Kim Se Ui, the head of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute, also known as Gaseyeon.
He said, “It is very unusual for an arrest warrant request to be more than 30 pages long,” adding that this may show that prosecutors and police have strong confidence in proving the allegations.
The case started after Kim Sae Ron posted and deleted a photo with Kim Soo Hyun in March 2024, which led to dating rumors. Kim Soo Hyun’s side denied the rumors at the time, calling them “groundless”.
After Kim Sae Ron was found dead at her home in February last year, the matter drew renewed attention. Kim Se Ui and the bereaved family later claimed that Kim Sae Ron had dated Kim Soo Hyun when she was a minor and released private materials. They also raised allegations related to pressure over debt repayment.
Kim Soo Hyun’s side strongly denied the claims at a press conference in March last year, saying, “He never dated her when she was a minor.”
They also argued that the messenger conversations presented by the bereaved family were manipulated “fake news” and have continued legal action.
