Lee Joon opened up about his painful childhood struggles during a preview for tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’.
The actor and former idol shared that he used to secretly live in his school’s dance practice room while attending Seoul Arts High School.
According to Lee Joon, he would hide inside a long cabinet until the security guard finished patrols and locked the building for the night.
He recalled, “The dark practice room was really scary, but I practiced dancing and slept there.”
Lee Joon explained that he stayed at school because his family was going through severe financial difficulties at the time. He revealed that their home was filled with cockroaches, leaving him with lasting trauma even years later.
He shared, “I still have a habit I can’t fix. Whenever I sleep somewhere, I always check under the pillow first. Back then, there were always cockroaches there. Even when I went to brush my teeth, there were cockroaches on the toothbrush.”
Lee Joon also reflected on visiting the house where he once lived, saying it still brings back emotional memories from that difficult period of his life. He admitted that returning to his current home afterward makes him realize how much his life has changed.
