Rapper Sleepy opened up about his past friendship with BTS’s Jin and explained why they eventually stopped keeping in touch.
On May 21, Sleepy talked about his recent life and his long legal battle through a video uploaded to his YouTube channel “Yes, I’m Sleepy.”
During the video, Sleepy recalled becoming close with Jin after they appeared together on “Law of the Jungle.” He said, “I became close with Jin after we went to ‘Law of the Jungle’ together.” He added that this was before BTS topped the Billboard chart, and Jin once called him to say, “Hyung, buy me a meal.”

Sleepy shared that he was having a difficult time back then, but Jin still met him and bought him food without making it obvious. He remembered it as a warm memory.
However, Sleepy said their relationship changed after he became involved in a lawsuit and BTS rose to global fame. He admitted that he had posted KakaoTalk messages from Jin on social media several times.
Sleepy said, “Whenever Seok Jin sent me a KakaoTalk message, I posted it all on SNS.” He explained that Jin seemed to let it pass once or twice, but Sleepy continued doing it.
He also revealed that Jin once contacted him after seeing news about his financial struggles. According to Sleepy, Jin told him, “Hyung, if you are having a really hard time, I want to help you a little.” Sleepy said he refused because he does not like borrowing money.
Sleepy then admitted that he later talked about the story on “Radio Star.” He honestly confessed, “To be honest, I wanted attention.” After articles came out, he said he and Jin no longer kept in touch as much.
Looking back, Sleepy said, “I was wrong. I really want to say I am sorry.” He also shared that he once saw Jin at a wedding and thought about apologizing, but ended up leaving without saying anything.
