Roy Kim showed off his naturally funny charm on MBC’s “Radio Star.”
On the May 20 broadcast, Roy Kim appeared with Kim Chang Wan, Choi Jung Hoon, and Hanroro for the show’s “Radio Star Spring Festival” special.
During the episode, Roy Kim talked about life after being discharged from the Marine Corps 5 years ago. He made everyone laugh by saying that even now, when he goes on stage, people still shout, “What class are you?”
He also shared that his fanbase changed after his military service. Roy Kim said, “Originally, I had many female fans, but now the ratio of male and female fans has become half and half,” showing pride in gaining more male fans.
Roy Kim also revealed how he became an ambassador for an underwear brand. He explained, “Because I often did live broadcasts wearing a sleeveless shirt, people started calling me ‘sleeveless shirt uncle.’” He added that he wore sleeveless shirts during performances too, and eventually became a model for a sleeveless brand.
The singer also brought laughter when his playful elementary school days were shown. After seeing his younger self, Roy Kim closed his eyes and said, “Why was I acting out so much?” The show’s caption described him as “a golden child type who could not stay still even for a moment,” proving that his funny side has been there since childhood.
