Jeon Somi looked back on her early “Produce 101” days and shared the pressure she felt before becoming part of I.O.I.
On May 18, Kim Chung Ha, Yoo Yeon Jung, Choi Yoo Jung, and Jeon So Mi appeared on the YouTube show “Zzanbro Shin Dong Yup,” where they talked about their time on Mnet’s survival program “Produce 101.”
During the show, Jeon Somi revealed that she did not expect the program to succeed at first. She said there were rumors at the time about an audition show with 101 trainees from different agencies.

She recalled, “Wow, who would go on that? If trainees are going to promote as one team but all have different agencies, it will fail.” She then made everyone laugh by adding that she eventually ended up joining the show herself.
Jeon Somi also shared how nervous she felt during the first recording. She explained that she was the last trainee to enter while the other 100 trainees were already seated and waiting.

She said, “I really missed my mom. I thought, ‘Mom, I think this place is strange.’” She added, “It was so much pressure because 100 people were looking at me.”
Yoo Yeon Jung then explained that the pressure may have been even greater because many trainees already knew Jeon So Mi as a JYP trainee and a former member of the TWICE debut team.
Jeon Somi agreed and honestly admitted, “Because I joined the show when I already had some recognition, I received some negative attention.”
