“My Royal Nemesis” is quickly becoming one of the hottest new K dramas.
The SBS Friday Saturday drama, starring Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun, started airing on May 8 and is already showing strong results after only two episodes.
According to Nielsen Korea, the drama’s peak rating rose from 5.4% to 6.9%, marking a 1.5 percentage point increase.

The drama is also gaining strong attention online. As of May 10, “My Royal Nemesis” ranked No. 1 among all content on Kinolights’ “Today’s Trend Ranking.”
Its global OTT performance is even more impressive. After episode 2 was released, “My Royal Nemesis” ranked No. 1 worldwide in Netflix’s Non English TV Shows category and No. 2 worldwide in the overall Netflix TV Shows category.
It also entered the Top 10 in 84 countries and regions, including the United States, Spain, Poland, and Japan. The drama ranked No. 1 in 24 countries, including Brazil, Taiwan, Qatar, Peru, and Singapore.

“My Royal Nemesis” follows Shin Seo Ri, played by Lim Ji Yeon, an unknown actress who becomes possessed by the soul of a famous Joseon villainess, and Cha Se Gye, played by Heo Nam Jun, a cold chaebol known as a “monster created by capitalism.”
The drama is gaining buzz for its fresh hate to love romantic comedy setup, Lim Ji Yeon’s strong acting across historical and comedy scenes, Heo Nam Jun’s sharp presence, and a fast moving script.
Viewers are also reacting to Seo Ri’s Joseon style way of speaking in the modern world, especially her line, “Are you running your dirty mouth?” which has already turned into a meme online.
With rising ratings, strong online buzz, and major Netflix rankings after only two episodes, “My Royal Nemesis” is proving that it could become one of the biggest weekend dramas to watch.
