Director Yoo In Sik of Netflix’s new drama “The Wonderfools” has spoken about Cha Eun Woo’s recent tax related controversy.
On May 12, the production presentation for Netflix’s series “The Wonderfools” was held at JW Marriott Hotel Dongdaemun in Jongno gu, Seoul.
Park Eun Bin, Choi Dae Hoon, Lim Sung Jae, Kim Hae Sook, Son Hyun Joo, Jung Yi Seo, Choi Yoon Ji, Bae Na Ra, and director Yoo In Sik attended the event.
“The Wonderfools” is a comic superpower adventure series set in 1999, near the end of the century. It follows a group of neighborhood misfits who suddenly gain superpowers and struggle to protect the world from villains who threaten peace.
Cha Eun Woo plays Lee Woon Jung, a mysterious public official at Haeseong City Hall who can use telekinesis.
Cha Eun Woo, who is currently serving in the military band, recently became involved in a tax related controversy.
When asked why his scenes were not edited out of the drama, director Yoo In Sik explained that he learned about the news through articles when editing and post production were already almost finished.
He said the project had been something he had wanted to do for a long time, and the production team had worked very hard on it. Because of that, they continued post production while putting the overall quality of the drama first.
He added that he hopes people understand that it is difficult for him to speak in detail about an actor’s personal issue.
“The Wonderfools” will be released on Netflix on May 15 at 5 p.m.
