SHINee member Key has made his first public appearance in about 6 months after taking a break from activities.
On May 11 at midnight, SHINee released the schedule film for their upcoming 6th mini album “Atmos” through the group’s official channels. The video introduced the comeback schedule ahead of the album’s June release, with Key appearing as a weather caster.
In the teaser, Key caught attention with short blond hair and a bold silver nose accessory. Since this marks his return after a long break, reactions online have been mixed.
Some fans welcomed him back and said he was also misled in the so called “injection auntie” controversy. Others felt that his return may be too soon.
Key previously paused activities last December after being mentioned in the controversy related to a person suspected of illegal medical acts.
At the time, SM Entertainment explained that Key first knew the person as a doctor after visiting a hospital in Gangnam gu through an acquaintance’s recommendation.
The agency stated, “He knew A as a doctor and did not realize that receiving treatment at home could be a problem.”
SM Entertainment also said Key recognized the seriousness of the issue and decided to step down from his scheduled activities and ongoing programs.
Following the controversy, Key left shows such as MBC’s “I Live Alone” and tvN’s “Amazing Saturday.”
Key is now set to meet fans again through SHINee’s concert at KSPO Dome in Olympic Park from May 29 to 31. SHINee will then release their 6th mini album “Atmos” on June 1.
With his return now officially beginning, attention is on how the public will respond to Key’s comeback.
