Kim Hyang Gi shared her honest thoughts about returning to a school uniform look for “Absolute Value of Romance”.
In a recent interview, the actress talked about playing Yeo Eui Joo, a high school student who lives a bold and cute double life in the Coupang Play teen series.
Since the role required her to wear a school uniform again after a long time, Kim Hyang Gi admitted she had some worries at first.
She said, “It had been a long time since I wore a school uniform, so I was relieved that people around me complimented me and said it looked good on me.”
Kim Hyang Gi also said the filming set felt comfortable because many of the cast members were around her age. She shared, “There were many friends around my age, so filming felt like I was really back in high school”.
She added that she tried to make the atmosphere relaxed by spending time with the cast naturally and bringing snacks to share.
The actress also opened up about her own school days. Since she started acting at a young age, she said she was thankful that her friends helped her feel comfortable.
She explained, “Even now, I meet my middle school and high school friends the most,” adding that she did not feel a heavy burden during school because of them.
Kim Hyang Gi also spoke about growing up as a child actress and thinking about what kind of image she should show next.
Instead of forcing a new side, she said she realized that doing her best with each opportunity was the most important thing.
She said, “From an actor’s point of view, it is something to be thankful for if you have a wide range of roles you can play, both younger and older. I will continue to do my best.”
“Absolute Value of Romance” is released every Friday at 8 PM through Coupang Play.
