MBC’s Friday Saturday drama ‘Perfect Crown’ is continuing its strong rise in ratings.
According to Nielsen Korea, episode 10 of ‘Perfect Crown’, which aired on May 9, recorded 13.5% in the metropolitan area, 13.3% nationwide, and 5.6% among viewers aged 20 to 54.
The drama saw a big jump in both nationwide and metropolitan ratings, breaking its own personal best for the second day in a row.
The drama also ranked No. 1 among all Saturday programs in nationwide ratings, metropolitan ratings, and the 20 to 54 age group. With this, ‘Perfect Crown’ achieved a triple crown for two straight days.
The most-watched moment of the episode came during the ending scene, when Seong Hee Joo, played by IU, found out that Grand Prince Ian, played by Byeon Woo Seok, was inside the burning royal hall. The scene reached a peak rating of 15.4% per minute, showing strong viewer interest in the couple’s fate.
Episode 10 focused on Seong Hee Joo and Grand Prince Ian’s relationship becoming stronger despite the growing danger around them.
After their painful conflict, Seong Hee Joo finally confessed her feelings and told him, “I like you.” She then kissed him, but nervously asked, “Do you dislike it?” when she saw his cold expression.
Grand Prince Ian responded to her confession with a deep kiss, creating an emotional turning point for the couple.
Their romance gained more attention as they held each other tightly, showing that they did not want to be separated despite the threats surrounding them.
The episode also showed Grand Prince Ian opening up about his burden over the throne. Seong Hee Joo encouraged him and promised to stay by his side, saying, “Let’s go until the end. I will be by your side.”
However, danger continued to grow as Prime Minister Min Jung Woo began making secret moves to stop the transfer of power. Without knowing his plan, Seong Hee Joo rushed to the royal hall after hearing an explosion.
She soon learned that Grand Prince Ian was inside the burning building, leading to a tense ending that pushed ratings to their highest point.
With its rising ratings, emotional romance, and intense cliffhanger, ‘Perfect Crown’ is gaining more attention from viewers each week.
