Hyun Woo Seok is gaining attention for his honest thoughts about his image, acting experience, and the kind of role he wants to try next.
The actor recently sat down for an interview to talk about Netflix’s ‘If Wishes Could Kill,’ where he plays Ha Jun. The series follows high school students who struggle against the curse of an app that grants wishes.
During the interview, Hyun Woo Seok shared that he received a lot of help from Noh Jae Won while filming.
He said, “Working with senior actor Noh Jae Won was really fun”, and even called him a precious person in his life. He also revealed that when he had many worries, they would talk on the phone for about an hour.
Hyun Woo Seok shared that Noh Jae Won gave him warm advice on set, telling him, “Woo Seok, just look into my eyes and act. You can do it again as many times as you need, so do everything you want to do.” The actor said this helped their chemistry feel more natural.
He also expressed gratitude to director Park Yoon Seo, who encouraged him to trust himself. Hyun Woo Seok recalled the director telling him, “I do not doubt you as an actor,” and, “Do not doubt yourself and just act.” He said that as filming continued, the trust between them became stronger.
Hyun Woo Seok also responded to comments about his cold image. After the director described him as someone who may look strict but is actually kind, the actor admitted, “I admit to some extent that I look cold.”

When asked about his strengths, Hyun Woo Seok said his image changes depending on his hairstyle and camera angle. He shared, “I like my eyes the most”, adding that he believes the eyes can have strong power when used well in acting. He also mentioned his athletic ability as one of his strengths.
The actor, who first started as a model, said he wants to use different looks as part of his acting. He shared that he once had very short hair with a strong image and is keeping that as a possible “weapon” for the future. He also said he wants to try a character with long hair someday.
As for the genre he wants to challenge next, Hyun Woo Seok chose historical drama. He said, “If I get the chance, I want to try a historical drama the most.”
He added that he really likes senior actor Kang Dong Won and found his roles in ‘Kundo’ and ‘Uprising’ very impressive.
