BTS’s Jungkook is once again proving his strong popularity, this time in Mexico.

On May 6 local time, BTS visited the National Palace in Mexico City and met Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

During the event, Jungkook greeted fans with a heart above his head and also showed a polite attitude toward the president.

Fans at the scene also showed their love for Jungkook with standees, signs, and T shirts featuring his face.

His popularity quickly spread online. On Google Trends in Mexico, “Jung Kook South Korean singer and songwriter” ranked No. 1 under “Related Topics.” In “Top Queries,” BTS ranked No. 1, while Jung Kook appeared several times at No. 2, No. 3, No. 6, and No. 10.

He also ranked high in “Rising Queries,” appearing at No. 3, No. 4, No. 7, and No. 9, after “Mexico President” and BTS.

Mexico’s Minister of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, also joined the buzz by sharing an Instagram Story using a video of Jung Kook on the balcony.

The post included the playful line, “Where is Marcelo? I will text him. Marcelo, can we see you this week?” followed by, “Of course, my Kookie Jungkook, I am in Canada now, but see you at the concert.”

Jungkook was also recently chosen as No. 1 in a vote for the “most popular idol in Mexico.” He continues to gain attention in different fields as well, including being featured in U.S. educational book series such as “Brain Candy Books” and the upcoming “My Itty Bitty Bio.”

With strong search rankings, fan support, and growing recognition outside music, Jungkook continues to show his global impact as one of K pop’s most popular stars.
