NewJeans’ Minji touched fans with a sweet surprise ahead of her birthday.
On May 5, several posts shared on social media and online communities claimed that Minji visited a birthday cafe prepared by fans and personally gave them homemade cookies and handwritten letters. Minji’s birthday is on May 7.
In one letter, Minji warmly greeted fans, writing, “Hello Bunnies. Has everyone been doing well? I wonder if you are eating well”.
She also shared that she heard many fans had gathered to celebrate her birthday again this year, so she decided to bake cookies for them.
She wrote, “I thought I could not miss out, so I baked some cookies. I hope they taste good.”
Minji also expressed how much she misses and appreciates fans. She said, “Bunnies, I am always thankful. I have a truckload, even a hundred truckloads, of things I want to say right now”.
She added, “I hope a good chance comes to us again. Let’s meet again. Thank you for celebrating my birthday.”
In another note, Minji told fans to take one cookie each and said they would taste best if eaten on the same day.
She also wrote, “Bunnies must also be curious about what I am doing, right?” and shared that she is waiting for the day when she can talk with fans for hours.
She added, “I have a lot I want to say. But I believe there will surely be a day when we can meet again and talk calmly.”
The letters drew attention as Minji remains in a period of uncertainty regarding her future activities.
According to the article, the NewJeans members previously notified ADOR in November 2024 that they were ending their exclusive contracts, citing broken trust, but later lost the related lawsuit.
Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni have reportedly returned to the agency, while Minji is still discussing whether to return.
