
TVING’s ‘Yumi’s Cells 3’ is continuing its strong run, ranking No. 1 in paid subscriber contribution for two weeks in a row.
According to TVING on May 3, ‘Yumi’s Cells 3’ placed No. 1 in both the overall and drama categories on TVING’s weekly content chart for the second straight week. The success of season 3 is also bringing renewed attention to the earlier seasons, with season 1 ranking No. 4 and season 2 ranking No. 6.
The drama is also gaining interest overseas. During its first week of release, ‘Yumi’s Cells 3’ ranked No. 1 on Rakuten Viki’s weekly chart in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania. It also took No. 1 on Mongolia’s Inche TV and ranked No. 3 on Disney Plus Japan.
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, ‘Yumi’s Cells 3’ follows Yumi, played by Kim Go Eun, who is now a star writer in her third year. Her quiet daily life begins to change after Soon Rok, played by Kim Jae Won, enters the story.
Season 3 is receiving attention for bringing back Yumi’s cell village with new emotional changes. The return of “Angry Dome,” the waking of sleeping cells, and Yumi’s growing feelings after seeing Soon Rok’s smile are adding more charm to the series.
