Kim Hye Yoon shared an honest story about the struggles she faced before becoming a well-known actress.

On the April 30 episode of tvN’s Fresh off the Sea in Calape, Kim Hye Yoon had a sincere conversation with Yeom Jung Ah, Park Joon Myun, and Dex after the cast returned from a meal together.

During the talk, Yeom Jung Ah asked Kim Hye Yoon if she had been acting since she was 17.

Park Joon Myun also mentioned that Kim Hye Yoon had played student roles for a long time. Kim Hye Yoon agreed and said, “That’s right. I did even after becoming an adult.”

Park Joon Myun then said she did not realize Kim Hye Yoon had such a long unknown period, while Yeom Jung Ah added that many people think she suddenly became popular through SKY Castle.

Kim Hye Yoon honestly replied, “The process was difficult.” She then revealed, “When filming or auditioning, I was rejected because of my height.”

However, she said she tried to stay positive at the time, explaining that when people mentioned her height, she thought, “Maybe it just did not match me.”

She added that she believed there would be a place that would love her height too.

The cast then lightly compared heights, and Dex praised Kim Hye Yoon by saying, “Isn’t being small Hye Yoon’s charm?” Yeom Jung Ah also complimented her, saying, “It is so cute when you stand on your toes to kiss a male actor.”

Kim Hye Yoon’s confession drew attention as she looked back on the difficult but meaningful path she took before gaining recognition.
