BIGBANG’s Daesung and Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon talked about the collaboration stage that never happened between their groups.
On May 1, Hyoyeon appeared on Daesung’s YouTube show 'Zip Daesung' in an episode titled “Welcome, is this your first time seeing a BIGBANG and Girls’ Generation combination?”
During the episode, the two shared that although BIGBANG and Girls’ Generation promoted around the same time and are the same age, they were actually meeting for the first time.
Hyoyeon said, “We really did not have a group collaboration.” Daesung then shared that he may have remembered things wrong, saying, “I thought I had performed ‘Kissing You.’”
Hyoyeon jokingly asked if he had danced to it alone at home and then asked if he honestly wanted to collaborate with Girls’ Generation. Daesung answered, “I really wanted to. It is true.”
He explained that he once watched their rehearsal and thought, “SM rehearsals are worth watching,” adding that he wanted to keep watching.
Hyoyeon also shared her own memory of BIGBANG. She said the moment she thought they were the coolest was during a stage where they performed behind steel bars, adding that she was completely impressed at the time.
Daesung then brought up Girls’ Generation’s famous rooftop performance of “Genie.” Hyoyeon revealed that it was not an easy stage, saying, “The sound was not good, so we could not hear well. The helicopter sound was louder. We just did it by feel”.
