IU and Byeon Woo Seok’s romance in Perfect Crown is gaining huge attention from viewers in Korea and around the world.
MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama has now aired up to episode 6, and the growing romance between Sung Hee Joo, played by IU, and Grand Prince Ian, played by Byeon Woo Seok, has become one of the drama’s biggest talking points.
The drama continues to show strong results. According to Good Data Corporation’s FUNdex, Perfect Crown ranked No. 1 in TV-OTT drama buzz for the 4th week of April 2026, keeping the top spot for three weeks in a row since its premiere. It also ranked No. 1 in news, VON, social media, and video categories.
IU and Byeon Woo Seok also stayed at No. 1 and No. 2 in drama cast buzz for four straight weeks, proving their strong popularity as an on-screen pair.
The drama’s ratings are also rising. Episode 6 recorded a nationwide rating of 11.2% and 5.9% among viewers aged 20 to 54, setting a new personal best. It also ranked No. 1 among Saturday programs in the Seoul metropolitan area and among viewers aged 20 to 54.
Its global performance on Disney+ is also impressive. Perfect Crown ranked No. 5 globally in Disney+’s Top 10 TV Shows and No. 1 among non-English shows. It has remained No. 1 in Korea, Japan, and Taiwan since release and entered the Top 10 in 39 countries and regions.
Episodes 5 and 6 gained attention after Sung Hee Joo and Grand Prince Ian became closer. Their proposal event and romantic yacht kiss quickly became hot topics online, with many viewers showing excitement over their growing relationship.
The next episodes are expected to bring even more romantic moments as the two begin preparing for their wedding after receiving approval from the king.
