Super Junior member Donghae is drawing attention after sharing a surprising story about almost debuting with BIGBANG.
In a recent appearance on a YouTube show, Donghae talked about his past and revealed an unexpected connection with YG Entertainment artists. When asked about G-Dragon and Taeyang, he said, “I don’t know them, but I have seen them before,” and went on to recall meeting them through Se7en when he was younger.
He shared, “We met at a PC room and later ate together, but I was so shy that I couldn’t say a word,” adding that he noticed a clear difference in style, saying, “I felt that YG and SM had very different styles.”
The story took a surprising turn when he admitted, “I almost did,” when asked if he could have become part of BIGBANG.
Donghae explained that he was originally preparing to debut in another group, but delays caused uncertainty. During that time, he even considered moving agencies, saying, “I didn’t really understand contracts back then… I just thought if the team wasn’t happening, I wanted to go to YG.”
However, he ended up waiting and later debuted with Super Junior. He added, “After I debuted, I realized those five members became BIGBANG,” leaving everyone surprised.
Eunhyuk reacted by saying, “I’ve known him for over 20 years, and this is my first time hearing this,” while Daesung joked, “One of us almost didn’t make it,” adding humor to the unexpected story.
