SBS drama “Phantom Lawyer” is gaining strong attention after delivering a shocking moment involving Yoo Yeon Seok’s character and his father, while also recording solid ratings.

According to Nielsen Korea, episode 13, which aired on April 24, achieved a nationwide rating of 6.5% with a peak of 6.7%.

The 2049 target rating reached 2.08% at its highest. The drama also proved its popularity by staying on Netflix’s “Top 10 Series in Korea Today” for six consecutive weeks and ranking No. 2 for the week of April 13 to 19.

The episode drew attention as Shin I Rang survived a life threatening situation and continued investigating a major case. During this process, the truth about his father, prosecutor Shin Gi Joong, began to surface, leading to a shocking reunion when his father appeared as a spirit without memories.

A key emotional moment came when a child spirit cried, “You said you would find my mom!”, which played a role in Shin I Rang’s recovery. Later, during the investigation, Shin I Rang strongly confronted the suspect, saying, “To children, parents are their whole world. You took away the most precious thing,” rejecting the suspect’s claim that “I saved children from unfit parents.”

The situation reached a turning point when the child’s spirit expressed, “If I were your son, I would feel so hurt,” leading to a confession and resolution of the case.

However, the biggest impact came at the end when Shin I Rang faced his father again. Not recognizing his own son, the father approached him as a client, but Shin I Rang firmly responded, “I will not take your case,” leaving viewers shocked and raising anticipation for what comes next.
