Park Bo Young looked back on the unexpected story behind her very first dating rumor, and it involved actor Kim Hee Won.
On April 25, Park Bo Young appeared on a YouTube variety show alongside Kim Hee Won and Lee Kwang Soo, where she shared the funny story for the first time in detail.
Park Bo Young explained that because she was very close with Kim Hee Won, he became the first person she was ever rumored to be dating.
She recalled that around six years ago, the two traveled together to meet the director of their film Collective Invention, and spent time eating and hanging out with the director.
However, reports later made it seem like the two had gone alone, which quickly sparked dating rumors.
At first, Park Bo Young said she laughed it off because it felt harmless, but the rumors kept growing bigger.
She revealed that her father started getting many calls from people around him, with some even asking if her “boyfriend” was too much older than her, making the situation even more awkward.
Park Bo Young also shared that at the time, she was in the middle of changing agencies, so there was no proper team to handle the rumor.
She said she called Kim Hee Won about it, but he was sick at the time and simply replied, “I don’t know,” before hanging up.
Kim Hee Won confirmed the moment in a playful way, saying he was feeling so sick that he could not deal with anything and just went back to sleep after the call.
In the end, Park Bo Young said she personally addressed the rumor by posting a message to her fan cafe, joking that she must have “grown up” since she was finally having dating rumors.
Kim Hee Won also shared that he received shocked messages from friends at the time, showing just how unexpected the rumor was for everyone.
Meanwhile, Park Bo Young, Kim Hee Won, and Lee Kwang Soo are set to reunite in the upcoming Gold Land, which premieres on April 29.
