Red Velvet’s Kim Ye Rim and actor Kang Sang Joon are drawing attention after showing strong chemistry at the first script reading for the new drama “Azure Spring.”
On April 24, the cast gathered for the reading ahead of filming, including Kim Ye Rim, Kang Sang Joon, Go Joo Hee, and Jung Hyun Min. Director Jung Heon Soo shared, “We plan to capture a beautiful story through underwater filming in the real sea,” and added that they will “prioritize the safety of the actors” while creating a warm and sincere drama.
“Azure Spring” tells the story of two young people who meet on a small island and grow together. Kim Ye Rim takes on the role of Anna, showing detailed emotions that express both anxiety and excitement, while Kang Sang Joon plays Deok Hyun, delivering a deep and emotional performance.
During the reading, the two actors showed natural teamwork, raising expectations for their on screen chemistry. The cast was also praised for their strong immersion, making the session feel close to real filming.
Kim Ye Rim shared, “I think it is a story that anyone living in this time can relate to,” while Kang Sang Joon said, “I worked hard to express the character,” and hoped to “greet viewers with a good feeling.”
The drama “Azure Spring” is set to premiere on May 11 at 11 PM.
