Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon surprised viewers after revealing she is still living in the group dorm even after 19 years since debut.
On the April 12 broadcast of JTBC’s ‘Please Take Care of My Refrigerator’, Hyoyeon appeared alongside Tiffany and shared details about her living situation.
During the episode, it was revealed that the production team had gone to the Girls’ Generation dorm to get her refrigerator, drawing attention.
When asked if she has been living there alone, Hyoyeon confirmed, saying “that’s right,” and shared that she has continued to stay in the dorm by herself since debut.
She explained her reason, saying, “My family home is in Songdo, but I live here to manage my schedule more comfortably,” adding, “It’s a comfortable resting place, and they always cook for me so I don’t go hungry. There is no better place than this.”
Hyoyeon also expressed appreciation for the long-time staff member at the dorm, saying, “I manage things myself, but when I want to eat something, I ask the auntie”, and noted that the staff member has been with them “since before Girls’ Generation debuted”, showing her affection and gratitude.
