Super Junior member Ryeowook has personally spoken out and apologized following a safety incident at their recent concert where fans were injured.
On April 7, Ryeowook shared a message explaining the situation and expressing his feelings. He said, “I wanted to explain what happened to ELF”, and admitted he felt deep guilt right after the accident.
He shared, “I kept blaming myself, thinking the fans got hurt because of me,” and added, “I wondered if I got too close or if I could have held them better when they were falling”. He continued, “Because of the shock and regret, my mind stopped for a moment”.
Ryeowook also apologized for his reaction during the incident, saying, “If how I looked seemed bad, I am sorry,” explaining that he was overwhelmed and could not respond quickly.
He revealed that he later met the injured fans at the hospital, saying, “Even while they were in pain, they worried about me and said they felt more sorry. I cannot forget that.”
Reflecting on his long career, he shared, “In over 20 years since debut, this is the first time I saw an accident happen right in front of me”, and promised, “We will be more careful about safety so we can continue to meet our fans.”
The incident happened during the final day of Super Junior’s concert, when fans gathered near the stage and a safety barrier collapsed, causing several people to fall.
