Actor Ju Ji Hoon shared behind-the-scenes details about his upcoming project ‘The Remarried Empress’ and revealed that he initially declined the offer.
During a recent interview, he honestly said, “This is an IP that received a lot of love worldwide, but I actually turned it down at first.”
He explained that it was not about whether the story was good or bad, but that “I just could not understand it, even though many people liked it.”
However, his decision changed after discussions with people he trusted. He shared, “People I trust explained a lot about why Ju Ji Hoon was needed for this project, so I decided to join because I believed them.”
He also mentioned his curiosity about the project’s production, especially since it involves adapting a well-known original work.
He said that live-action adaptations are “very difficult”, but learning more about the pre-production process and its release on Disney+ made him more interested.
At the same time, Ju Ji Hoon is currently starring in the drama ‘Climax’, which has been gaining attention for its fast-paced storyline and strong immersion.
Speaking about why he enjoyed the project, he explained, “What made it interesting for me was the feeling that ‘this could really happen.’”
He added with a strong expression, “There are people like that in real life,” showing his perspective on the realistic nature of the story.
Ju Ji Hoon also talked about his consistent work pace, sharing that his motivation comes from having many interests.
He explained that he enjoys discussing details on set and actively engaging with directors, which helps him stay energized rather than tired.
Meanwhile, he also responded to mentions of the upcoming drama ‘Perfect Crown’, which some viewers say reminds them of his past hit ‘Princess Hours’.
He joked, “‘Princess Hours’ has never stopped being loved”,and expressed gratitude for the continued support. He also shared that he was once offered a cameo but laughed, saying it likely did not happen due to scheduling and storyline reasons.
With multiple projects lined up, Ju Ji Hoon continues to show his dedication while taking on new challenges through different roles.
