Kim Go Eun is returning as Yumi in Yumi’s Cells 3 after three years, raising excitement among viewers for the next chapter of the popular series.
The new season follows Yumi, now a successful romance novelist, as she navigates her daily life and emotions. A new character, PD Soon Rok (Kim Jae Won), brings unexpected changes to her routine, adding a fresh dynamic to the story.
Kim Go Eun shared insight into Yumi’s journey, explaining that the character starts off fully focused on work.
She said, “As Yumi worked hard to succeed as a writer, her life became centered only on work”, adding that Yumi begins to face new questions about how to spend her time and find balance.
She also hinted at character growth, saying, “You will see Yumi regain energy as her cells slowly wake up again”, suggesting a more lively and emotional storyline this season.
Talking about why the series is so loved, Kim Go Eun said, “I think the biggest reason is relatability,” explaining that the drama captures small, everyday feelings in a way that feels real while still bringing light humor.
She added, “This season includes even more fun elements than before, so please look forward to it”.
Yumi’s Cells 3 will premiere on April 13, with episodes released weekly on TVING and tvN.
