Actress Park Min Young is drawing attention after candidly revealing that she once faced a truly dangerous situation while filming ‘Marry My Husband,’ sharing that she nearly lost her life during an underwater scene.

On March 24, Park Min Young appeared on the YouTube show ‘Salon Drip 2’ alongside Wi Ha Joon, where she opened up about her acting career, personal challenges, and one particularly terrifying memory from set.

During the conversation, Park Min Young explained that she had rarely appeared on talk variety shows over the years because she worried viewers might not be able to focus on her “real self” as an actress.

However, the biggest moment came when she looked back on filming ‘Marry My Husband’ and revealed just how intense one scene became behind the scenes.

She recalled that the sequence involved her character jumping into the water without breathing equipment in order to save a friend.

According to Park Min Young, she chose to film the scene herself without a stunt double, even though visibility underwater was poor and she could only move by following a faint light.

Park Min Young then shared the most alarming part of the experience, saying, “I almost died during the underwater shoot.”

She explained that once the cameras started rolling, she was unable to hold her breath any longer and quickly tried to come back up for air.

Describing the moment as “really dangerous,” she said the situation became even more difficult because her body is naturally light, but she had gone into the water wearing heavy weights, which made her rise much more slowly than expected.

The actress admitted the experience affected her deeply, joking that she no longer says she is good at swimming and now tends to be more cautious when it comes to physical activities.

Even so, Park Min Young made it clear that difficult projects still hold special meaning for her. She shared that although such experiences are exhausting, works like that can feel like “a gift,” adding that they leave a positive impact on her and push her toward new challenges as an actress.

Now in her 20th year since debut, Park Min Young’s honest story is drawing praise for showing just how much commitment she continues to bring to every role, even when the risks behind the scenes are far greater than viewers realize.
