BTS member Jin is drawing attention after honestly opening up about how differently he once viewed idol life, revealing that he originally thought the group might only last around seven years before moving on.

On March 22, Jin appeared in a new video titled “With Jin” on Kian84’s YouTube channel Life 84, where he spoke candidly about his current schedule, his mindset, and how his feelings about BTS changed over time.

While talking about what he has been doing lately, Jin shared that he is currently balancing work on his solo album along with touring, showing that he remains just as busy as ever even after more than a decade in the industry.

The biggest moment from the conversation came when Kian84 asked what had changed the most since Jin debuted at 22 and is now 35.

Jin answered that his mindset had changed “for the better,” before making a surprisingly honest confession about his early expectations for BTS.

He said, “In the past, honestly, I strongly thought, ‘Let’s do this for about 7 years and then leave,’” adding that he once believed the group would likely stop around that point.

However, Jin explained that everything changed as time passed.

He shared, “I thought I would probably stop after around 7 years, but as I kept doing it, it became fun and I became sincere about it.”

Jin also gave warm credit to fans, saying their support played a major role in how his feelings changed.

He said, “I’m also very thankful to the fans,” and added, “I never thought I would do this for this long. As I kept doing it, it became fun, and I started thinking, ‘Maybe it’s okay to take this seriously.’ That feeling grew stronger over time.”

Kian84 also praised BTS’s performance level, pointing out that many groups become more relaxed with choreography over time, but said BTS has only become even sharper and more intense on stage.

In response, Jin humbly praised his fellow members, saying, “Our members are very good. I’m not that good,” before jokingly making fans laugh with, “What I’m best at among the members is pushing forward with my face.”

Jin’s honest and playful comments are now getting attention for giving fans a rare look at how his thoughts about BTS evolved from a short term plan into a long lasting career built on passion, growth, and gratitude.
