MBC’s In Your Radiant Season delivered one of its biggest emotional turning points yet, but the ratings told a very different story.

In episode 6, which aired on March 13, the romance between Lee Sung Kyung and Chae Jong Hyeop took a major step forward as their characters finally cleared up their misunderstanding and openly moved closer, giving viewers the kind of heart fluttering development many had been waiting for.

The episode featured a dramatic reunion between Song Ha Ran and Sun Woo Chan, followed by emotional scenes that pushed their relationship into a much more meaningful place.

One of the biggest moments came when Song Ha Ran confessed, I regretted it after you suddenly disappeared. I do not want to regret it again,” before adding, “Can I openly be really good to you? I will start today.” The emotional ending quickly became a major talking point among viewers.

Despite the strong romantic momentum, the drama saw a sharp drop in ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, episode 6 recorded 2.9% nationwide, down 1.2% from the previous episode.

The number marks the drama’s lowest rating so far since its premiere.

The drop is drawing attention because it came on the same night the series delivered one of its most talked about relationship developments.

With the lead couple finally moving forward and emotional interest rising, many expected the drama to continue building momentum rather than fall to a new low.

Now, attention is turning to whether In Your Radiant Season can recover in episode 7. The next episode is scheduled to air on March 14 at 9:40 PM KST with an extended broadcast, giving the series another chance to bounce back after its surprising ratings decline.
