Streaming platform TVING is preparing a major lineup of new dramas starring Kim Go Eun, Park Ji Hoon, and Lee Jun Hyuk, as it continues to expand its influence both in Korea and internationally.
The new lineup will begin with Season 3 of “Yumi’s Cells,” which is scheduled to premiere on April 13.
The romantic comedy, which tells the story of Yumi’s daily life and relationships through the perspective of her cells, will return about four years after Season 2.
Kim Go Eun will once again play the lead character Yumi. The series will first premiere on TVING before later airing on tvN.
In May, Park Ji Hoon will headline the new drama “The Legendary Cook Soldier.” The series is based on a popular web novel and follows the story of a military cook who grows into a legendary chef.
The project has already attracted international attention after being selected for a special screening in the non competition section at the French drama festival “Series Mania.”
Meanwhile, Lee Jun Hyuk will return with the office drama “Lotto Winner Also Goes to Work.” The series tells the story of a worker who wins the first prize in the lottery but continues to go to work, exploring the changes that follow. Lee Jun Hyuk will play Gong Eun Tae, a sales team leader dealing with realistic workplace struggles.
Industry experts note that all three projects are based on well known original stories with established fan bases, and the combination of popular actors and relatable themes is expected to attract strong viewer interest.
TVING is also expanding its global reach by partnering with international streaming platforms. The TVING original “Dear X” was released simultaneously on platforms such as Rakuten Viki, HBO Max, Disney Plus Japan, and StarzPlay in the Middle East and North Africa, reaching No.1 on some platforms.
The platform has also launched a TVING brand hub on HBO Max and Disney Plus Japan, allowing its content to be distributed across 17 regions in the Asia Pacific.
