BLACKPINK has officially set a new record with their latest comeback.
According to YG Entertainment, the group’s 3rd mini album DEADLINE, released on the 27th, recorded 1,461,785 copies sold on its first day based on Hanteo Chart data. This marks BLACKPINK’s highest first day sales to date and sets a new record for the highest first day sales in K pop girl group history.
The comeback comes about 3 years and 5 months after their last full group release, and the strong numbers reflect the massive anticipation from fans worldwide. Pre orders had already shown strong demand, and attention is now focused on what new first week milestone the group may achieve.
The album is also performing strongly on global charts. DEADLINE topped the iTunes Album Chart in 32 regions and reached No. 1 on the Worldwide chart. The title track “GO” quickly ranked high on major domestic music platforms, while the rest of the album tracks also showed stable performance.
The “GO” music video also made an immediate impact. It ranked No. 1 on YouTube Worldwide Trending and Top Rising Music shortly after release. The video became the most viewed video within 24 hours and has now surpassed 19.5 million views, once again proving BLACKPINK’s powerful global reach through their official channel with around 100 million subscribers.
With record breaking first day sales and strong global chart results, BLACKPINK continues to show their unmatched influence as a leading K pop girl group.
