Lee Jong Suk and Lee Jun Hyuk are officially set to headline two highly anticipated drama adaptations based on popular web novels, and fans are already excited about the shared universe concept.
On the 23rd, Ace Factory confirmed that Lee Jong Suk will take on the lead role in Love of Lee Seop, while Lee Jun Hyuk will star as the main character in Calm Lies. Both dramas are based on full length novels by writer Kim Eon Hee, which first gained popularity as web novels.
What makes the project even more interesting is that the two stories share the same universe. Although each drama focuses on a different couple, they are connected through the powerful TK Group and family ties between the male leads.
Love of Lee Seop is an office romance centered on Tae I Seop, a third generation chaebol heir who seems perfect in every way except when it comes to love. His story unfolds alongside Kang Min Kyung, known as the secret weapon of TK Group, as their very different personalities lead to romance.
Meanwhile, Calm Lies follows Tae Joon Seop, the grandson of TK Group chairman Tae Si Hwan. Known as the ideal member of a wealthy family, his life begins to change after he meets copywriter Yeon Woo Kyung. The story develops within the backdrop of competition surrounding the company’s future, adding tension to the romance.
The two male leads, Tae I Seop and Tae Joon Seop, are cousins, linking both dramas within the same world. The series will be produced by Bon Factory, known for Lovely Runner and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, alongside Ace Factory and Amen Media, which produced the Stranger series.
With plans to begin production within the year, both dramas are aiming to be filmed alongside each other, raising anticipation for how the connected stories will unfold on screen.
