SHINee’s Taemin is making headlines as he becomes the first K pop artist to join the U.S. Amazon Music global performance series In the Paint.

On February 18, his agency Big Planet Made Entertainment announced, “Taemin will appear on Amazon Music presents: In the Paint, releasing on the 19th local time. He is the first K pop artist to take part.”

In the Paint is a global performance series presented by Amazon Music through the NBA postgame show. The series combines music and basketball, giving artists a chance to reinterpret their songs on a courtside stage.

Previous performers include international stars like Clipse, Nas, and YG. Taemin’s inclusion marks a milestone for K pop and demonstrates his growing global influence.

Taemin has earned the nickname “idol of idols” thanks to his powerful performances and precise expressions. His career as a solo artist has been steadily expanding, highlighted by a sold-out Las Vegas solo concert.

He has also appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show and the Grammy Museum’s Global Spin Live, building his international presence. Fans are eagerly anticipating the unique stage he will present on In the Paint.

Looking ahead, Taemin is set to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April, one of the world’s largest music events, further solidifying his global career and K pop’s influence on international stages.
