Actress Lee Joo Bin, who recently starred in tvN’s Spring Fever, opened up about why she hasn’t launched a personal YouTube channel despite having 2.07 million Instagram followers.

On February 13, during a roundtable interview at a café in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, Lee shared her thoughts on social media, connecting with fans, and her acting career.

“I do want to try YouTube. But I think a lot and often get exhausted while worrying (laughs). I feel like I need to just do it once to really get started,” she said.

Spring Fever, based on a popular web novel, tells the story of teacher Yoon Bom (Lee Joo Bin) and the passionate Sun Jae Kyu (Ahn Bo Hyun).

The drama concluded on February 10 with its highest ratings at 5.7% (Nielsen Korea, paid households), showing strong viewer interest and building a loyal audience.

In the drama, Lee Joo Bin plays a moral teacher with a frozen heart who slowly opens up after meeting Sun Jae Kyu.

She received praise for delicately portraying the character’s emotional growth.

Lee Joo Bin debuted in 2017 through SBS’s Whisper and was previously a DSP Media girl group trainee.

Although she began acting later than some, she steadily built her filmography, gaining attention in tvN’s Queen of Tears in 2024 as a supporting lead and later taking main roles in tvN’s Divorce Insurance and KBS2’s Twelve.

About staying connected with fans, Lee Joo Bin admitted, “I don’t think I’m fully close to them yet. I need to try harder. Right now, I mainly post drama photos or occasionally share my daily life on SNS.” She added, “Seeing other actors actively communicate with fans makes me think I should try more actively too.”

Regarding future fan interactions, she said, “Thanks to my works doing well, people are paying attention and giving me love. I hope to meet fans not just through dramas but in other ways—fan meetings, variety shows, or other events and platforms. I will discuss this more with my company.”

Despite her popularity, she has not yet started a personal YouTube channel. “Watching many actors communicate with fans in various ways is amazing. I want to try live streaming, to hear directly what fans think and want from me. But I’m also worried about making mistakes, so I’m being careful for now,” she explained.

On what has kept her motivated as an introverted actress for nine years, Lee Joo Bin said, “I like new experiences. Acting lets me meet new environments and people each project. For some this might be a disadvantage, but for me it’s a strength.”

She continued, “It can be stressful, but working in environments I’ve never experienced is exciting. The more I do it, the more I learn, and gradually I gain confidence. That’s what has kept me working consistently and makes me want to keep acting.”

Spring Fever has not only strengthened Lee Joo Bin’s position as a lead actress but also highlighted her charm and professionalism, while keeping fans excited for more of her work in 2026.
